Paintings, drawings, objects and visual constructions of letters by Mira Schendel attest a philosophical approach to the question of existence and a sophisticated rapport with modern form vocabulary. She experimented with colour, line and characters on rice paper or glass and made the problem of transparency, amongst other things, the subject matter of her work.
